ScanMyRoom checks a room for hidden cameras using the sensors in your iPhone, and says plainly what each technique can and cannot see.

Please include your iPhone model and iOS version. Reports never leave your phone, so we cannot see them — if a result matters, describe it or share the report text from the app.

Common questions

• The Wi-Fi scan found nothing. Check that Local Network access is on in Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network. Some hotel and office networks also isolate guests from each other, which hides every device.
• The lens scan will not start. It needs a dim room: in bright light the flash cannot be told apart from the room, so the scan declines to guess.
• Does the infrared scan work on my phone? Point a TV remote at the camera and press a button. If the LED shows on screen, it does.
• Subscriptions. Manage or cancel in Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Every detection technique is free without one.
